The process should make it possible for more used hard plastic, such as garden chairs and sledge

The investment made in Lanna is about an investment for the recycling of hard plastic. According to Jonny Wehrnlund, business area manager Plastic at Stena Recycling, several things are going on.
- It is about six to ten new jobs, against the previously existing approximately 25 employees at the facility. It is expected to be ready by the turn of the year 2023-2024, he writes in an email to the newspaper.
He does not want to mention any amount when it comes to the size of the investment.
- But it is a significant investment that is part of a much larger ambition on our part. Our ambition is to refine the material further and to expand capacity in the future.
The inauguration of Stena Recycling's new process for hard plastic recycling in Lanna takes place on 26 October. The process should make it possible for more used hard plastic, such as garden chairs and sledges, which are collected at Sweden's recycling centers, to become raw material for the manufacture of new products.

Recycling takes up less energy, which reduces our carbon footprint and emissions. Reducing our carbon footprint helps minimize methane-release waste from landfill sites, which contributes to climate change.

Plastics have been a nuisance pollutant and any move towards eradicating them or mitigating pollution should be taken in Ernest

It's great to see companies investing in the recycling of hard plastic, especially given the growing concern about plastic waste and its impact on the environment. The creation of new jobs is also a positive outcome of this investment. Hopefully, more companies will follow suit and prioritize sustainability in their business practices.
