Using drones to plant 40 000 seed-pods every day
Australian startup AirSeed Technologies, fights deforestation and biodiversity losses using AI-drones. By combining artificial intelligence with specially designed seed capsules, the drones can shoot new seeds into the ground from high altitudes.
Australian bushfires have destroyed over 40 million acres across Australia and this startup wants to offer a rapid reforesting response. AirSeed says their systems is a much faster way to plant new trees compared to doing it manually. According to the company their drones can plant 40k tree seed pods per day compared with estimated 800 seedlings per day by a manual tree planter.
