Climate warning

Aiming for climate disaster

If Donald Trump is elected US President in November, this could lead to an additional 4 billion tonnes of US emissions by 2030, compared with Joe Biden’s plans, should he be re-elected. According to Carbon Brief, which published the analysis, Trump's policies would cause global climate damage worth more than $900 billion, based on the latest US government valuations. What’s even worse, Trump’s added emissions would overshadow all climate gains made over the past years. 4 billion tonnes of extra emissions is such a large number that it would negate all of the savings from deploying wind, solar and other clean technologies around the world over the past five years. Not just once, but twice.
To make another comparison: 4GtCO2e is equivalent to the combined annual emissions of the EU and Japan or the combined annual total of the world’s 140 lowest-emitting countries.

People should be enlightened on the importance of electing leaders that will serve them well..and leaders who care about their lives.

We cannot afford to backslide on climate action. It's imperative that voters prioritize candidates with robust climate policies to safeguard our planet's future. 🗳️🌱

Republicans have been big supporters of the coal industry and this might keep growing should their top man clinch the seat. Very sad

His policies would make the pollution much worse and undo all the progress we've made. We need to be careful about who we choose to lead and make sure they care about the environment.

My main concern at the moment really is, is Joe Biden doing any better in the climate field? Have they upheld the climate promises? I don't think so

Biden's efforts to combat climate change cannot afford to be reversed.I argue Americans to make the right decision in November.

@patrick_kiash I strongly agree with you, they should consider voting for those leaders who value environment and public health over financial profits. (those investing in fossils fuel)

This is alarming and a challenge to the US citizens, the good thing is they have liberty of choice and can decide not to let this happen. However in the other hand Trump should reconsider his manifestos and policies for the sake of a sustainable future.

I would urge US citizens to make the right decision when it comes to elections. They should elect leaders who will care for their lives and who will bring positive news to the climate.

I think this will lie on the US citizens which i believe and hope they are going to make a wise decision if they wont be enticed with fake promises. Leaders or aspiring leaders like Trump should not be supported in any way ,they actually should be voted out

Republican legislatures in many states want to use taxpayer money to keep coal plants open, which otherwise can't compete with renewable energy. Trump could do the same at the national level.
