Booming Cement Demand May Drive Up CO2 Emissions.
The cement industry is responsible for approximately 5% of global anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions. Atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases cannot be stabilized without addressing this important emissions source.
Cement production, although essential for societal development, is energy-intensive and a major contributor to CO 2 emissions and environmental issues.
