People are dying from extreme heat. The UN has estimated that heatwaves kill half a million people every year, 30 times more than devastating tropical hurricanes. The UN is warning of a new ‘epidemic’ on a planetary scale. An ILO report (

…) says heat is a silent killer that threatens people's health and lives. 📊 On July 21, 2024, the global average surface temperature set a new record. 📊The record lasted exactly one day and fell on July 22, when the planet warmed to 17.16 °C. 📊The next day, July 23, was again warmer than the previous record of 17.08 °C set just a year ago, on July 6, 2023. The global community is more divided than ever. ‘However, the climate crisis is a common challenge for humanity,’ reminded UN Secretary General António Guterres. ‼️ He called all countries for action to combat the effects of extreme heat. #UN #CreativeSociety #GlobalCrisis #Responsibility #ActNow #Italy #wildfires #forestfire #weather #ClimateChange #climate #destruction #anomaly #FriendshipDay #TuesdayMorning #Olympics    #OlympicGames    #TuesdayMotivation #tuesdaythoughts #TuesdayMood #TuesdayFeeling #NationalCheesecakeDay #TongueOutTuesday #WeirdAF #lovefighters #TrainAccident
