Dutch farmers are discovering bamboo as the crop of the future.

Dutch farmers are discovering bamboo as the crop of the future. Together with Bamboologic, they plant part of their land with this fast-growing fibre crop that is used, for example, for biobased buildings.

In this short video, Lars Hillewaere of LTO Bedrijven explains how bamboo credits work. Dutch farmers are rewarded through ONCRA certificates for the long-term capture of CO2 in the soil of their land.

Together with LTO companies, NL Groen and Doing Business Doing Good (DBDG), the first bamboo Carbon Removal Credits have been launched in the Netherlands. Festival Into The Great Wide Open and DBDG are among the first recipients of these credits.

On 25 May, the Double nature summit of Climate Cleanup will discuss the realization of this project.
