Why does Shell want the new Cambo Oil field?
Oil giant Shell and Siccar Point Energy are asking the UK to approve a massive new Cambo oil field just months before #COP26.
The planned development will totally ruin the UK’s chances of meeting its climate targets. There’s already enough oil and gas in existing sites to cause the UK to exceed its share of emissions under the Paris Agreement goals.
There is no room for the Cambo Field in a 1.5°C compatible future
