Toshiba has created a prototype of a lithium-ion battery specifically designed for high-voltage applications.

Toshiba has introduced a prototype of a cobalt-free lithium-ion battery with a high-potential cathode material and a niobium titanium oxide anode. The battery exhibits high voltage, fast charging, excellent power performance, and long lifespan. It is suitable for power tools, electric vehicles, and high-voltage industrial applications. Toshiba plans to develop larger modules for vehicle use and aims to commercialize the technology by 2028.
