BIDCO AFRICA PLEDGE TO PROTECT PLANET

BIDCO Africa Group Director Chris Diaz said they will focus on finding solutions to plastic pollution. “Earth’s sheer incredible beauty and wildly varied landscapes can move us to think about better ways of protecting the planet for future generations because we all agree that environmental conservation goes beyond tree planting,” Diaz said at Mang’u High School in Kiambu County. Chief Operating Officer of BIDCORO Mads Burmester bemoaned 400 million tonnes of plastics produced annually as well as low recycling rate of less than 10 percent of single-use plastics. “It’s all up to us now, plastic is not the problem, the problem is that we don’t recycle and we don’t pick it up: so, let’s all begin to pick up, minimum one piece of plastic per day, recycle it and again from strength to strength in building a pollution free planet,” said Burmester. Mang’u High School Principal John Kuria lauded the organisations for helping the school planet over 700 fruit trees plus 600 indigenous trees within the school compound. Other entities present at the event were KEPSA Foundation that was led by their Executive Director Gloria Ndekei while Branice Mayienga represented the Women in Business Network. We call upon all corporates to show concern for the climate matters and be part of the solution as they are also part of the problem. https://www.capitalfm.co.ke/business/2023/06/bidco-africa-bidcoro-pledge-to-protect-planet/

I'd be most interested in the steps Bidco is taking to stop the huge toxic fumes that billows in the air at the wee hours of the night.Residents living around this company that includes Mount Kenya University students have a share of hard times every night all years long and have had life threatening heath complications. This should be addressed too as the company sorts out the plastics issues.

That's fantastic news! It's encouraging to see companies like Bidco Africa taking responsibility and pledging to protect the planet. With their commitment, they can contribute to reducing environmental impact, promoting sustainable practices, and mitigating climate change. By implementing sustainable manufacturing processes, adopting renewable energy sources, and supporting conservation efforts, Bidco Africa can make a positive difference in preserving natural resources and biodiversity. Their pledge sets a great example for other businesses to follow, showing that it is possible to prioritize environmental sustainability while serving the needs of the community.
