The driest desert on the planet is in bloom. The Atacama Desert in northern Chile is one of the driest places on Earth, but swaths of its usually barren sand are currently carpeted with a colorful bloom of white and purple flowers. The bloom usually coincides with El Niño, during which temperatures are warmer in the region, leading to more evaporation and, in turn, more rainfall to awaken the dormant seeds

🟣 Poland. July 12. On Friday evening, a powerful #storm hit Tomaszów Mazowiecki in the Lodz Voivodeship. Firefighters from the Tomaszów County received over 120 reports after the passage of the strong storm front, with heavy rain and gusty winds.
The reports mostly involved fallen trees and downed power lines, but there were also instances of roofs ripped off and flooded basements.

🟣 India. July 12. #flooding Flood situation remains grim in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh due to flooding from Garra river on Friday.
Several localities of the city are affected due to floods and the water has entered hundreds of houses forcing people to spend the night on the rooftops. Many houses were flooded by four to five feet of water. Electricity in the entire area was cut off.
