And together we've planted over 150,000 trees. One tree is planted for every climate review written to an organization that is Open for Climate Dialogue™.
How does this work?

If they are sincere and have a promise to mitigate their harmful effects on the earth and human health , then it can be accepted. But first understand the personal founder's OKR ,key goal, and responsibility. When compared to fake PR and announcements, NLP strategy can sometimes help to find the truth and honesty. Why not invite the Coca-Cola founder and speak with him about what he truly believes and what he, as a leader, can do while remaining committed to a socially sustainable business mindset rather than a business mindset? If you decide so, invite me online, if not in person, as an observer and interviewer. I can understand the real motives

Dear Climate & Capital Media Thank you for getting your climate warning to level 2! We have reached out to United Nations and asked for a response. I will keep you updated on any progress! /Muhammad We Don't Have Time

This is absolutely absurd, and Coca-Cola should commit to stop using plastic bottles first.. Not acceptable!!
•

COP27 put a sharp spotlight on greenwashing in an unexpected and highly disturbing way. CocaCola is a true representative of the bad in the two systems most urgently needing transformation; Energy system and food system. A brew with low nutritional value bottled in high energy produced plastic - too much most ending up floating in our oceans instead of recycled. I would challenge CocaCola with the question if the company closed down; Would there be anything but benefits (ignoring job loss)? How are you going to turn into a net contributor to our planet, climate and health?

@susanne_wedin_schildt I wish if they could come up with a refilling beverage system every where in the world and if someone wants a drink , must have a beverage bottle in their bags or houses to take to supermarkets and shops . This way Coca-Cola and other beverage making companies will be avoiding single used items in the environment... And the better for mother nature......

As much as we need climate financing and sponsorship from different entities, let's not accept to give a blind eye to some of the companies that are not committed to our goals. It would have been more better if the Coca-Cola company uses this finances to produce Biodegradable bottles to package their products! This will be much more better!!

Coca-Cola should commit to using biodegradable material for bottling.. no more plastic!!
•
128 w
This is ridiculous. Climate change accelerators and polluters should not have access to cop 27
•
•
128 w
I think if we give @CocaCola a chance to sponsor COP 27 it will form a basis for them to start blackmailing the environmental agencies and organizations such as UN, UNEP, UNDP, from taking action against their plastic pollution and green washing issues... I believe that the rich member states should contribute towards the event to prevent such organizations from taking advantage

Any scientific data on plastic put in consumer hands by global brands like CocaCola vis a vis global pharmaceutical brands put together? It has been reported that microplastic released in market by pharma sector has increased tremendously since Covid days.

Green washing by Big Multi. I’m still boycotting. They need to do much more.

Despite sponsorship it may be needed! This should be a point to ponder, and last consideration after all avenues fail, and again with some tough conditions, which I don't think Coca-Cola will agree as a sponsor if they have an ill motive. Hard times though.
•
128 w
When the deal is too good, think twice. If the sponsorship sails through,we'll have licenced Coca-cola to continue destroying our future since we can be sure that coca-cola labeled bottles which are a majority of the litter among other beverage brands will still be a menace to the environment for a much longer time than thought and the struggle to tame plastic pollution will not cease any soon.
•
128 w
It is very good they sponsor it. Plastic won't go away. And coca cola is investing in recycle the type of plastic they need to use. It's up to national governments to enforce recycling, like with a return charge on every reuse package.

@jehannes_ros I thought so too at first, but when I read about "Coca-Cola has a 30-yr long history of lobbying to block regulations including the EU Plastics Strategy Initative." That does not add up! They can't both be on the good side and, at the same time, lobby for delaying regulation.
•
•
•
128 w
@jehannes_ros - the issue goes beyond plastic. It’s also what is in the bottle A 12-oz can of Coca-Cola contains about 10 teaspoon of sugar. The high amounts of fructose corn syrup, refined salts, and caffeine found in soda contributes to high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity when regularly consumed.
•
•
•
128 w
@climate_capitalmedia why is sugar a problem for the Climate? Let’s focus on the big picture! The biggest problem for UN meetings is that they are underfunded and need sponsors in the first place.

@Rentzhog We totally disagree. The global diabetes epidemic and climate are completely related. Read the following study: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0378378220307040
•

•

@climate_capitalmedia - the study concludes: A bidirectional relationship exists between type 2 diabetes and climate change. This relationship originates through a multifactorial pathway involving biological, social, environmental, geophysical and economic factors. An integrated action plan targeting the common predisposing vectors should be set up. This should support a low environmental impact while promoting equity and wellbeing.
•
128 w
@Rentzhog so we have to punish indefinitely? Never to adapt change, always criminals. The what is the insentive to change, you'll never be good. It's also not that companies will not exist. These sentiments come from anti-globalist IMHO. They have other goals then the climate and use the situation of the climate. You have to use the carrot and the stick, not just the stick.
•
128 w
@climate_capitalmedia related but not diabetes causes climate change. Keep it to the point.
•
•
•
128 w
Fair enough. But we also cannot silo climate change to fixing the atmosphere. Focus is important, but so too is understanding the economics that got us to where we are - and massive industrial food production - is a key factor.
•
•
•
128 w
@jehannes_ros I totally agree with you that we need carrots. My only concern is if Coca-Cola continues to work against plastic regulation at the same time they are sponsoring COP27. If that is the case, they don't deserve carrots and are not a good sponsor. But what I really think is the main issue here is that the UN needs to finance global meetings with sponsors. It should not be needed. The rich countries should pay for it. It is peanuts!
•
128 w
actually I think it's true to say that they sell plastic - not beverages... :(
•
128 w
I find it shocking that they are, I understand Cop needs funding, but using a company who is a major opponent to acting on removing plastics and in destroying our planet Earth is utterly ludicrous! Either Coca Cola stops using plastics & lobbying to block legislation or they should not be playing games like this! We have to make the changes! Coca-Cola is not! They are the worst of plastic producers & polluters!
•
•
•
128 w
The biggest problem is that the UN needs sponsors to host COP meetings. It should be paid by member countries, especially the rich ones.
•
128 w
How are they going to achieve?

It's very hard to understand 😪
