🌧️ On the 28th of September, 2024, #Nepal experienced catastrophic floods and landslides caused by relentless rainfall. At least 66 people lost their lives, and over a thousand individuals were rescued. In the Kathmandu Valley alone, which is home to approximately four million people, there was a recorded rainfall of 322.2 mm in just 24 hours, leading to rivers overflowing and submerging many areas. Residents sought refuge on rooftops while rescue teams utilized helicopters and boats for evacuation. Major highways, including the crucial Prithvi Highway, were blocked due to landslides. The city is currently experiencing widespread power and internet outages.
