The COP 26 climate conference in Glasgow was billed as our last chance to limit global warming this century to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. Our leaders tell us it was a success, but hundreds of thousands of climate activists outside the event did not seem to share that optimism.
