EnergyAustralia Unveils Plan for Massive Four-Hour Battery in South Australia

EnergyAustralia, a major energy retailer in Australia, has announced its intention to construct a substantial four-hour battery in South Australia, adjacent to its existing fossil fuel generators. The Hallett battery energy storage system is set to start at 50 MW with four hours of storage, aiming to expand to a 150 MW facility with 600 MWh of storage in the long term. This initiative reflects the ongoing shift towards renewable energy sources and signifies a significant step in supporting the integration of renewables into the energy system.
