New report indicates about India's significant achievements in forest conservation and sustainable management, as shared by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change at the UNFF.
India's forest cover has consistently increased over the past 15 years, ranking third globally in net gain from 2010 to 2020. India's focus on biodiversity and wildlife conservation is evident through its extensive network of protected areas and milestone projects like Project Tiger and Project Elephant.
Additionally, initiatives like the International Big Cat Alliance and the Green Credit Programme aim to further promote conservation efforts.

I strongly agree, forests serve as vital carbon sinks, supporting biodiversity, and regulating local climates. This progress in India's environmental stewardship can inspire other nations to prioritize sustainable land management and ecosystem restoration.

India's consistent forest cover increase is excellent for the environment. It enhances biodiversity, sequesters carbon, and helps combat desertification. The focus on tiger and elephant conservation is especially commendable due to their ecological importance and how endangered they are.

India deserves an applause for such a commitment towards protecting their forests , which will boost sustainability in a major way. It is a great way to reduce carbon footprint for India.

@joseph_githinji We all are impressed by India's ability to start and maintain the project. Usually, countries forest covers have been declining in the past few years and it's a breath of fresh air (pun intended) to see a change in that downward trend.

@elizbeth_gathigia Yes they are, in our conventions on planetary protection, we should include a forest cover clause to ensure all nations have at least a fifteen percent forest cover. This would go a long way in helping biodiversity and carbon filtration.
