😲​ 2/3 of SMEs concerned about Climate Actions 😳​ Small and medium-sized businesses are stepping up in the fight against climate change, but lack the resources to fully activate their climate journey. SME Climate Hub did a recent survey, finding that SMEs need additional resources and guidance to reduce emissions. 💡​ The UN-backed survey revealed that most consider decarbonisation “a high priority,” taking efforts to cut emissions through reduced energy consumption and waste (82%), employee education (64%) and upgrades to facilities (52%). The survey disclosed the Climate Maturity of SMEs as following: ✅​ 50% of SMEs calculate emissions, and 60% have plans to reduce their carbon impact. ❌​ However, 66% worry they don’t have the resources to do so. Top reasons they delay climate action include a lack of skills and knowledge (63%), funding (48%) and time (40%). ✅​ 70% aim to activate external funds to reduce their emissions faster or at all. ❌​ However, only 30% have been tapping into additional financial resources.
