Green Party quadruples Commons seats to four in historic UK election

The good news is sparse these days so let's celebrate all victories, even small. 🥹 The Green Party has significantly increased its representation in the 2024 UK General Election, quadrupling its Commons seats from one to four. This success includes capturing three new constituencies—one from Labour and two from the Conservatives—while retaining Brighton Pavilion.

Ellie Chowns secured North Herefordshire with over 21,000 votes, defeating Conservative incumbent Bill Wiggin. Additionally, co-leader Adrian Ramsay won the Waveney Valley seat on the Norfolk-Suffolk border with nearly 42% of the vote. Siân Berry held Brighton Pavilion, succeeding Caroline Lucas.

Denyer celebrated the historic victories, expressing her gratitude and commitment to representing voters' hopes in parliament.
"I feel so privileged to have this opportunity to serve you and to ensure that the real hope that inspired so many people to vote Green is represented in parliament. I can’t wait to get started."
Well done, Greens! Let's hope your presence in Parliament can keep Labour's ambitions and climate action on track.
