The World Economic Forum rates "Climate action failure" #climatecrisis as an equivalent threat to the economy as "Infectious diseases" #covid19pandemic. WEF == WWF ? In its latest "Global Risks Report 2021" #wef2021 WEF members indicate in a poll that "Climate Action Failure" poses an equivalent risk to the economy as "Infectious diseases" (in the midst of the Covid19 pandemics), shortly followed by "Biodiversity loss", "Human environmental damage" and "Natural resources crises". Its younger members ("Global Shapers") consider these issues an even greater threat than their elder colleagues. It is worth noticing that the WEF seems more aware about the seriousness of the climate crisis (in line with statements from climate activists) than our elected officials #cop26. How will it translate into action? Can these threats realistically be addressed in a sustainable scenario that avoids GDP reduction in developed economies?
