Biogas will now be financially viable to expand in Sweden

Almost 2 years ago European Union authorities stopped Sweden’s tax exemption for biogas referring to that it was unfair competition with the fossil gas. This resulted in a drastic halt in building new biogas plants at farmers and at other sights.

Now finally the biogas expansion can roll out and produce both renewable energy and stop methane emissions from manure đź‘Ť

Biogas production not only generates renewable energy but also helps mitigate methane emissions from manure. This dual benefit is essential in the fight against climate change

Fossil fuels have no place in energy provision currently. Promotion of clean energy is the action which should be taking place.

@tabitha_kimani Their harmful impact on the environment, from climate change to pollution, is clear, and we must now prioritize clean energy solutions that are sustainable, safe, and economically viable.

This is a great initiative towards sustainable energy production in Sweden. With biogas becoming financially viable, it will likely lead to increased investment and expansion in the sector, ultimately contributing to reducing carbon emissions and promoting a more environmentally friendly energy landscape.

@walter_lungayi yes that’s really what will happen. As far as I know more than 100 new farmbased biogas projects have been halted in Sweden during the last two years and hopefully they will get started now
