On the sidelines of the celebration of World Environment Day, the Faculty of Graduate African Studies at Cairo University organized today, Wednesday, June 7, a forum entitled “The Carbon Footprint of the Plastic Industry” under the auspices of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Mohamed Elkhosht, President of Cairo University. The celebration witnessed the handing over of certificates to the trainees in the first training course in Egypt and the Arab world, which comes as a result of cooperation between the college and the Voluntary Team Foundation for Humanitarian Work, which obtained quality in training, as part of the Carbon Neutrality Pioneers initiative headed by Ambassador Mostafa Sherbiny, and it is considered the first in the Arab world and one of the most important courses. The first professional training in Egypt that provides expert guidance on the international methodology for calculating the carbon footprint and verifying carbon certificates for managers in private and public sector companies, government agencies, non-governmental organizations and business organizations to identify and manage their greenhouse gas emissions according to the GHG PROTOCOL Provided by the Institute for Resources and Verification of Carbon Targets in accordance with the international standard ISO 14064, 14067.
