THE WORLD NEEDS CARBON REMOVAL AND SEQUESTRATION. TODAY.
Models published by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) require removing up to 20 Gt of carbon dioxide per year from the atmosphere to limit global warming to 1.5°C. 1PointFive is developing solutions to remove and securely store CO2 for hard-to-abate sectors, such as aviation, maritime and industry. We're also in the process of creating sequestration hubs to provide CO2 storage to help industrial facilities reduce their emissions.
REMOVING CO2 FROM THE ATMOSPHERE
The 1PointFive is currently developing its first large-scale Direct Air Capture (DAC) facility to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere which can be measured, verified and stored securely underground. These critical factors will enable us to provide high-quality carbon removal credits (CDRs) to help businesses achieve their climate targets.
STORING CO2 DEEP UNDERGROUND
Geologic sequestration is the process of storing CO2 in geological formations deep underground. Tapping the massive potential of such geological formations around the globe, 1PointFive plans to store CO2 from DAC and make secure CO2 sequestration available to industrial facilities employing point source capture.
