I really hope to see this plummet to incredibly low numbers and eventual phase out of not just coal but other fossil fuels as well. Let them lead others in the green transition
•

@undefined i also hope to see the complete phase out of fossil fuels soon

Reducing coal consumption is quite a significant way of mitigating the severe issues if climate change.

@jane_wangui You're spot on. As a fuel that worsens climate change, any less emissions from it is welcome. Only question is if it will be enough to make a significant difference.
•
•
3 w
@jane_wangui absolutely... The pollution caused by burning coal is just a major disaster that's why it should be stopped.
•

This is the way to go .. reducing coal consumption with help reduce the emissions brought about by the use of the resource.

@rosebellendiritu More countries could learn from this model on how phase can and should be phased out to ensure not only some are doing it as it wouldn't be as effective if we all did it.
•
•
3 w
@rosebellendiritu Germany should now focus on phasing out the use of all fossil fuels
•
•
1 w
@edwin_wangombe exactly... Its important to phase out all fossil fuels

addition, the switch to renewables in electricity production meant that less energy is wasted, for example as heat in fossil power plants.

@kelvin_thuranira_kaberia Indeed, it is a welcome shift that means global warming/ boiling is cut to a minimum leading to us beating climate change in the bear future.
