German cabinet approves 58 bln euro green investment plan for 2024.

The German cabinet has decided to increase green investment funding by 60.2% from 2023 to 57.6 billion euros ($63.2 billion) in 2019. With 18.9 billion euros for restorations and new construction in 2024, the Climate and Transformation Fund will concentrate on the German construction industry. Around 12.6 billion euros will be provided for renewable energy subsidies, while 4.7 billion euros will go toward the expansion of the e-mobility charging infrastructure.
Germany plans to use 4.1 billion euros in subsidies to build up domestic production capacity for raw materials and transformation technologies, such as solar power components. Due to the US Inflation Reduction Act, which might entice industries away from Europe, it is imperative to support the development of renewable energy in Europe.

@videlis_wanjiru They are not doing the steps needed and not at the pace needed. Hence the controlling organisation in Germany are giving the Government thumbs down 👎 No climate love from me until this substantially changes.

The plan is good on paper. However, Germans are now flying and driving their fossil fuel powered cars more than ever, and people are unwilling to change their behaviour, they expect the politics to solve that problem...

@rukia_ahmed_abdi we need to differ from fossil fuels principally in their diversity, abundance and potential for use anywhere on the planet.
