Hi fossil fuels, the combo of agrivoltaics and community solar is coming for you 🦸‍♀️

The energy landscape is rapidly evolving worldwide and agrivoltaics and community solar are leading the way. Agrivoltaics combines solar power with farming, allowing crops or livestock to coexist with solar panels. This dual-use approach addresses land use concerns and benefits both farmers and clean energy advocates.
Meanwhile, community solar allows people to invest in local solar projects without installing panels on their property, lowering their utility bills. Community solar subscribers purchase a share in a local solar project, which generates credits that reduce their energy costs.

Now, these two trends are converging and it's great news. In Massachusetts with cranberry farming or Maine with wild blueberry, projects carried by BlueWave Solar are integrating agrivoltaics with community solar. In Massachusetts, five projects will be combining nearly 20 megawatts of capacity with sustainable farming and more than 4 megawatts in Maine. These initiatives provide clean energy to residents, including low-income households, while keeping farmland productive. A win, win, win situation! 💯
This combination is proving to be a game-changer. It preserves farmland, supports local agriculture, and delivers cheaper, cleaner energy to communities. Agrivoltaics and community solar are a powerful duo that could ultimately push fossil fuels out of the picture. 💪
