Conflict in Gaza puts biodiversity and critical ecosystems at risk
War devastates habitat of rare species and threatens marine life in the region

30/10/2024 – The current Israeli military offensive in Gaza has had devastating impacts on local biodiversity, seriously threatening 150 to 200 bird species, many of which are endemic or migratory. The Gaza Valley, a crucial point for migratory birds traveling between Africa, Europe and the Americas, is among the areas most affected, compromising the future of these species and turning an important natural sanctuary into a field of devastation.
