2°C is grateful to have received UNESCO endorsement of our project as part of the Ocean Decade. Our oceans are in critical jeopardy as our climate warms, specifically the near-shore, coral reef environment which supports 25% of the species. Our project addresses this directly, by engaging recreating individuals to contribute meaningful scientific data, helping us assess where changes are occurring and how this affects the species living there. As we develop this project, partnerships worldwide will be needed from technology to local stakeholders. If your organization would like to find out how you can be part of this exciting new ocean strategy, please reach out at [email protected] https://www.oceandecade.org

@sarah_chabane Thank you Sarah! We are still working hard on the terrestrial LEAF sensor, but our mission began in the ocean and so it's a great win for our team. Less than 1.5% of the near-shore coral reef environment is actively monitored globally. Advancing this project would help change that number significantly!

I'm so proud of our team for advancing this complicated proposal which took 2 years to develop and review, and I'm thankful for the trust shown to us to help design a positive future for the ocean!
