A year into the Russian invasion of Ukraine, one of the invader's tactics has been to target key infrastructure hubs in order to cut power in hospitals, schools or water sanitation plants. When you're personally under constant threat of a military assault, it can be quite difficult to think about long-term environmental impact, but some non-profit organizations such as Greenpeace CEE or EcoClub have been hard at work helping setup small-scale solar power plants at key locations in the country, such as hospitals and water treatment plants.
Once the installation is done, as these infrastructures are no longer dependent on the national power grid, they are able to keep light, heating and fresh water on, making their choice safer for everyone.
