There are now 4 companies in Nairobi that use electric buses.

Electric transportation has begun in numerous countries. Electric buses are key. Electric bus advancements are encouraging. Shenzhen is known for adopting electric buses quickly. UK, continental Europe, Australia, and South America are adopting electric bus fleets.
Embassava Sacco, a renowned Nairobi public transportation operator, has added four electric buses to its fleet thanks to a cooperation with BasiGo. Nairobi-based Embassava Sacco offers savings and loans. Kenyan Saccos often buy and operate minibuses with members' funds. Kenyans call minibuses matatus. Embassava Sacco operates four BYD K6 electric buses. BYD K6 batteries can last 250 kilometers.
The adoption of electric buses by Embassava Sacco marks the fourth company in Nairobi to do so. After a successful 6-month trial program, BasiGo started selling electric buses to bus operators last year. It's remarkable that four different bus companies have already made the switch to electric buses in such a short period of time. This demonstrates rising faith in the new technology among regional businesses. It also serves as an excellent example of how far a dedicated team working with the correct business plan can get in a very short period of time. The shift to electric mobility in the public service vehicle industry on the continent can be accelerated with the help of novel business models like BasiGo's Pay-As-You-Drive model.
