India's use of renewables and increase in forest cover help reduce its emissions at an enormous rate.

Greenhouse emissions rate has dropped by 33% in 14 years in India, putting it on track to reach UN goal. This drop is faster than expected and is due to the rise in renewable energy generation and forest cover. India's average rate of reduction in emissions increased to 3% annually in the period 2016-2019 from just 1.5% in the period 2014-2016.This was largely attributable to the government's push towards renewables. Besides the use of renewables, there has been a substantial increase in forest cover and schemes as from 2019,covering 24.56% of India hence promoting non-fossil generation and targeting emissions in industrial, automotive and energy sectors leading to the sharp reduction intensity. Recently,India has been trying to promote green hydrogen manufactured by splitting water molecules using renewable energy. I believe the progress made on reducing emissions intensity should help India avert pressure to developed nations to stop using coal. https://www.euronews.com/green/2023/08/10/india-slashes-emissions-rate-by-one-third-in-14-years-putting-it-on-track-to-reach-un-goal

Eliminating emissions and increasing carbon removals could a game changer to reduce net emissions.

@rashid_kamau Removing and sequestering carbon dioxide could permanently reduce climate risk by slowing or even reversing climate change.
