Let’s continue our deep dive into the European climate tech investments trends. 🔍 As we discussed last Friday, we see a significant increase in European climate tech investments. But, compared to North America, Europe still clearly lags. 📉 Although Europe leads in climate tech: it has the highest spending in climate tech R&D, the best research institutes and universities, and 28% of all climate tech patent applications come from Europe. 🧪 Europe also leads in founding: for example, in 2019-2021, more battery companies were founded in Europe (102) than US & China combined (80) So, Europe needs to improve in funding its innovations significantly. 💰 Source: PwC State of Climate Tech 2021
