Controversial floating private beach in South of France sparks debate over environmental impact

The project has not been inaugurated yet but controversy is mounting over the installation project of a floating private beach "Canua Island" 600 meters off the coast in the Gulf of La Napoule in Mandelieu. The project proposed by two athletes is to provide a platform for relaxation, sports activities, and dining in the sea.

The public targeted is high-end customers and companies that wish to organize "event planning." The designers claim the project to be a unique, eco-friendly design that respects the environment but somehow it seems hard to believe.
The project is facing opposition from the region of PACA and the city of Théoule-sur-Mer, who denounce it as an ecological aberration, and Renaud Muselier the president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region is opposing the project as well, citing concerns about noise pollution and visual pollution, among other things. How will they deal with waste for example? And how will all the visitors be taken to the place?
The project is awaiting administrative authorizations, such as navigation and safety certificates, and its port of call has not yet been determined. Critics say the project could cause harm to marine biodiversity and should not be allowed. Fishermen have expressed their concern as well.
It's hard to understand why Sébastien Leroy and the city of Mandelieu-La Napoule can approve this project which seems to come from another era.

Clearly not enough research was done before approving this project.

@munene_mugambi yes.... there is no need to bring the human impact we have on the ground to the sea.
