With its two official aircraft, the Swedish government can fly around the world in a private jet. Now the government is asking the Swedish Armed Forces for a third SEK 20 million state aircraft that can be used during 2023. According to documents from the Ministry of Defence, "the travel requirement for the top civilian management is expected to increase" during Sweden's EU presidency. The reason given by the government is Sweden's EU presidency in 2023, which is expected to mean a greater need for travel. "Due to the Swedish presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2023, the need for travel for the highest civilian management is expected to increase." Brussels and Stockholm are not that far away from each other, and most of the EU capitals are accessible by trains, can't the government take the train? I highly doubt that the Czech Republic government asked for a new plane last year. They are showing once again that the environment is not a priority for them, time to stop. https://www.aftonbladet.se/nyheter/a/l3KmXM/regeringen-vill-hyra-nytt-plan-for-20-miljoner

I bet two would be sufficient, and there are regular airlines that is a way better alternative as well.
