Decreasing plastic use will assist in one way or the other

It makes more sense to invest more on options that could phase out plastics than to continuously decorate plastics recycling as a groundbreaking solution to the plastic crisis.

'Research shows recycled plastics are more toxic than their virgin constituents'. This is very consistent with 'The Upcycle' and 'Cradle to Cradle' books by Michael Braungart and William McDonough who explain why sometimes recycling is more harmful and costly than making a new product. From releasing harmful chemicals and requiring special additives that are not always sustainable they pose a threat not only to the environment but to human health too . The message is, not all recycling is good recycling.
