NatWest issues its first electric vehicle financing bond

New €750m bond hailed as the first from a UK bank dedicated to financing and re-financing electric vehicles
NatWest Group has this week successfully issued its first Electric Vehicle (EV) Green bond raising net proceeds of €750m from institutional investors based in the UK, Europe, and Asia.

The company said the issuance makes NatWest Group the first UK bank to issue a green bond where the use of proceeds are intended to exclusively finance or re-finance EVs.

The proceeds from the bond will now be used to support EV financing through NatWest Group's asset finance arm, Lombard, building on its recent record of providing UK business with over £2.3bn of funding for sustainable transport project
