OPEC rallies members against fossil fuels phase out at COP 28

The head of OPEC has urged members to reject any COP28 agreement that “targets” fossil fuels, highlighting deep divisions as the UN climate conference in Dubai enters its final week. A new draft of the final agreement published on Friday includes a range of options, from agreeing to a “phase out of fossil fuels in line with best available science”, to phasing out “unabated fossil fuels”, to including no language on them at all.https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/12/8/opec-rallies-members-against-fossil-fuels-phase-out-at-cop-28

Despite their resistance, the fight to phase out fossil fuel must continue

It is definitely concerning seeing a resistance against fossil fuels phase out ... Don't this people care about our planet? Have they not seen the consequences of using fossil fuels ? Shame on them!!!

Their resistance to a phase-out is not surprising.

It is important to recognize the impact of fossil fuels on our environment and the urgent need to transition to renewable energy sources to mitigate climate change.

@gorffly_mokua I don't know why it is so difficult for them to consider our safety and that of mother nature.

@gorffly_mokua ignorance is a bad disease, I feel like they know the consequences but they just ignore. This is sad and must be condemned with the highest terms possible.
