Use the infrastructure that are already there

We see a lot of energy problem this very day and we also know there are several undersized electricity networks and especially in large cities like Stockholm. Now Daniel Helldén, Swedish political want to build thousands of charging poles, even though they already know it´s an expensive and bad idea. My idea is to use the existing infrastructure of gas stations and set up stations with replaceable batterties (https://powerswap.se). This idea utilizes existing stations, become more energy efficient and electric cars will become cheaper, so redo and do the right thing. https://powerswap.se https://www.svd.se/planen-100-000-nya-laddplatser-i-stockholm https://www.aftonbladet.se/lokala-nyheter/XwkqBx@ablokal

There are actually three things to consider. 1. Do we need to go by cars in big cities (public transportation)? 2. Do all need their own cars (https://zipcar.com)? 3. Do we not have to make changes and do things in a different way, if we want to solve the climate crisis? There will be ”loosers”, like what happened to many people and companies during the pandemic and still do.

With gas stations I mean ordinarie gasoline stations.

Gasstations have good electricity connections, the can swap out a few places for chargers. No will start with battery swapping in Norway, only on there cars. I don't think its a usefully plan. Many slow chargers are needed that setup the payment directly when you plug-in. If you park charge. Electricity grid gave to be uprated anyway for other uses.

It is a nice idea, but there is no way that the auto industry will redesign their cars for this technology (in my opinion). For three reasons: 1. Current auto batteries are imbedded in the design also structurally, so any change in the battery design changes the car and safety. So that means a standard swapping battery for all auto makers is needed, and they loose their competitive advantage and can not then guarantee performance. 2. Liability issue when batteries catch fire in a car, whose to fault, and pay damages. 3. Most manufacturers have already committed to their 10-15 year investment plan, buy building battery plants close to car plants, so i don't see them reversing these multi-billion $$ investments. Now where this can work is with pleasure boats, elec. grills....

But they aren't that many gas stations in Stockholm no? It feels they are mostly located outside of the city. I think it's good to reuse what we have, but maybe we need more charging poles than there are gas stations in Stockholm? 🤔
