What future do you want?

In 2023, the Swedish museum based in Stockholm, Nordic Museum celebrates 150 years. With this anniversary fundraiser, they look to the next 150 years. What do you want and think Sweden, the Nordic countries and the world will look like in the future? What can we do together to get there? Here you can participate with your story and also take part in other people's views on our future. Good initiative. We need to vision or the future to have one.

As a museum, we want to contribute with long-term thinking and a constructive discussion about the future and create a forum for this. We think that in order to reach the future we want, we need to imagine it first. Our role is to create the platform, but we need help to truly start the discussion from individuals, organizations, politicians, corporates, and everyone who is part of building our society. So we are grateful that as many as possible take part in this and share it. If you want to know more or have any ideas on how we could improve this, feel free to email jorgen.lowenfeldt@nordiskamuseet.se

Here is a small update of our work with the future collection (which received 579 contributions: https://varframtid. nordiskamuseet.se/ ). On November 11, the Nordic Museum together with the Institute for Future Studies will organize a future day at the museum. Maybe it could be interesting for you in some way? The day aims to raise the gaze towards the long perspectives. And to let the museum function as an arena for social debate. The program is quite eclectic, I think, which is facilitated by the fact that it is a collaboration. https://www.nordiskamuseet.se/kalendarium/var-framtid-en-dag-om-de-langa-perspektiven
