Paris talks to focus on funding poor countries to tackle climate crisis

France President Emmanuel Macron is set to host EU leaders, including the European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen and the German chancellor Olaf Scholz among other World leaders to discuss on matters climate crisis. Among what is to be discussed in this vital meeting includes climate financing, green growth, the debt crisis and how to tap private sector sources of investment. This conversation is going create a great roadmap towards financing the developing countries. This is a great sense of responsibility from the rich nations to focus on aiding the poor nations towards a sustainable future. According to French President, Macron he believes this is the way to support the less privileged nations to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and hence supporting them is paramount. “The fight against poverty, the decarbonisation of our economy in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, and the protection of biodiversity, are closely intertwined,” he said, setting out the terms for the two-day summit. “We therefore need to agree together on the best means to address these challenges in the poor and emerging countries of the developing world, when it comes to the amount of investment, to comprehensive reform of infrastructure like the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and public and private funds, and how to set a new process in motion.” https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/jun/17/paris-talks-focus-funding-poor-countries-tackle-climate-crisis

How and why is fossil fuels divestment missing out as key agenda of this meeting? I tend to think that our leaders aren't over yet from foul play on this important subject

Climate financing has had its fair share of challenges and has this never been realised, will this meeting be fruitful and ensure that polluting nations pay for their damages? Looking forward to this development.

Climate restoration techniques and measures are very expensive, hence the need for funding. But France should accelerate it's own transition and stop drilling of fossil fuels
