The church is a great pillar to fight for climate action. The Catholic Church has stood tall to fight for the environment well-being. Pope Francis has today ordered the construction of a solar farm to cover the energy needs of the Vatican City State. Pope, who has been a climate defender and a vocal campaigner for climate action is a great example to all religious groups to stand against climate change effects and brace climate action.

As reported by Reuters the Vatican City, a mini-state, based in Rome, hosts the headquarters of the global Catholic Church and comprises St Peter's Basilica. It is the world's smallest country, measuring just 0.44 square kilometers. The premises also host Vatican radio.
In a document, the 87-year-old pontiff said the solar farm should be built outside Vatican walls, in Santa Maria Galeria in the northwestern outskirts of Rome. The new solar farm is set to power the Vatican Radio
"We must transition towards a sustainable development model that reduces greenhouse emissions into the atmosphere, aiming towards climate neutrality," Francis said in the two-page document.
The Pope further warned on the dangers danger of climate change and emphasized on the importance to reduce the use of fossil fuels.
"The planet is beginning to look more and more like an immense pile of filth", he said.
In conclusion, the Pope is doing a great job for standing strong to fight climate change menace. The construction of this solar farm in Vatican is a boost to the use of clean energy and a great motivation to all religion fronts to follow these steps. The church has a great influence in the society and they can use their prominence to guard the environment.
