Saudi Arabia Commits To Plant 12 Million Trees & Shrubs In 2024
The National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification has committed and is preparing to plant β12 million trees and shrubs in 2024 across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This is according to Khaled bin Abdullah Al-Abdul Qadir, CEO of the NCVC, who said that for all the projects, recycled water would be used
Al-Abdul Qadir made the comments at a ceremony in Buraidah Oasis recently to mark the completion of a 1 million tree-planting project.

This is a great commitment from Saudi but this will not make the significant change that the world needs. The solution to climate change is ending their fossil fuel drilling and supply.

@george_kariuki as you have said sends a message about their commitment but in the real sense is Saudi committed to tackling climate change? Are they ready to phase out fossil fuels? Keeping in mind they are among the global oil giants.

Trees will not save us as long as Saudi Arabia resists phasing out fossil fuel. They where leading the resistance of ending oil at COP28

@Rentzhog I second, this is just a PR cover-up for the country to fool people as they continue supplying the world with fossil fuels... it is a shame to see such countries acting as if they care about the people but all they care about is the profits
