Major brands struggle to reduce use of plastic sachets
An estimated 855 billion sachets are sold globally each year, with almost half of that consumed in Southeast Asia
10/02/2024 – Small plastic sachets, widely used in low- and middle-income countries, continue to pose a significant environmental challenge, even as major companies attempt to limit their use. A new report finds that despite promises, consumer goods giants such as Unilever, Nestlé and Procter & Gamble have failed to curb the production of these single-use materials, which are popular due to their low cost and convenience but come at a high environmental cost.
