DEWA Allocates $250 Million Towards Enhancing Dubai's Water Security and Advancing Solar-Powered Sustainability.

DEWA is taking a pioneering role in ensuring Dubai's water security and sustainability, aligning its efforts with the UN Sustainable Development Goal of guaranteeing the availability and sustainable management of water. With a commitment of $250 million, DEWA's projects include the establishment of water production plants utilizing Sea Water Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) technology, a solar energy initiative, and the allocation of industrial land to support operational needs. DEWA envisions achieving 100% desalinated water production through clean energy and waste heat by 2030. Currently, boasting a desalinated water production capacity of 490 Million Imperial Gallons per Day (MIGD), including 63 MIGD using Reverse Osmosis, DEWA remains dedicated to elevating water resources through innovative technologies. This commitment underscores Dubai's global leadership in water security and sustainable resource management, emphasizing principles of sustainability, innovation, and efficient water utilization.
