For accelerating clean energy transition in New Jersey
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced that the state will require 100% of electricity sold to come from clean energy sources like wind and solar by 2035. The goals accelerated the plans initially set for 2050 and include installing zero-emission heating and cooling systems in hundreds of thousands of homes and commercial properties.
Besides, this U.S. state will require all new cars and light-duty trucks sold by 2035 to be zero-emission. “These bold targets and carefully crafted initiatives signal our unequivocal commitment to swift and concrete climate action today,” said Governor Murphy.
