It’s Time ⌛
As hinted at by the theme of Climate Week NYC 2024, taking place between September 22 and September 29, 2024, it’s time to take bold climate action for our planet and our children.
Climate Week NYC is hosted by Climate Group, an international non-profit whose purpose is to drive climate action fast. Now more than ever, businesses must recognise their responsibility to reduce their environmental impact, not only for the planet but for the children who are already affected by the climate crisis. From extreme weather to health challenges, children are disproportionately vulnerable.
At Global Child Forum, we know that the decisions made today will shape the world that future generations inherit. That’s why we’re urging businesses to take concrete steps, aligning with this year’s Global Climate To-Do List:
📋 Support workers in transitioning away from coal.
💡 Unleash renewables by breaking down barriers and scaling up clean energy.
🌿 Ban relining coal-based steel furnaces and prioritise green alternatives.
💨 Reduce methane emissions and increase transparency.
🏠 Boost energy efficiency across sectors.
🛒 Buy clean by making climate-friendly procurement choices.
💰 Tax oil and gas to fund the transition.
Our annual benchmark—the largest of its kind on children's rights—assesses businesses on key indicators, including Resource Use & Damage to the Environment. This data is crucial not only for businesses seeking to assess their performance relative to peers in their sector or region and to increase their social impact but also for investors and asset managers making informed, responsible decisions.
If you’re curious about how companies perform when it comes to the environment, discover our 2023 results and stay tuned for the reveal of the 2024 ones:

We are still very far from fighting off the crisis. Bold and robust climate actions seem to be by order rather than responsibility.
