My father mixed all of yesterday's leftovers with this morning's porridge. At the time aged 6-12 my TV dominated mores reacted with ridicule. 50 years on I'm now remembering that we had no food waste. My father's porridge and the avian garden visitors consumed all leftovers. Recently rats are posing a health risk challenge to this smart protocol.
