Cabinet Secretary (Minister) of Foreign & Diaspora Affairs - Republic Of Kenya Dr. Alfred Mutua met with the European Parliament Development Committee on 3rd April, 2023. The aim of the meeting was to discuss partnerships with Kenya and the continued support in the socio-economic development of the country.
Dr. Alfred further affirmed Kenya's commitment towards mitigating climate change through initiatives that will guarantee sustainable food security by way of Agricultural innovation. Kenya plans to build dams that will be critical in tapping rain water for irrigation and other Agricultural activities. He requested for EU support in this endeavor as well as on Kenya's 15Billion trees initiative and Regional peace.
Since Kenya will be hosting Africa Climate Summit next in September, 2023 the Cabinet Secretary welcomed EU support and participation at the Conference that aims at collectively forging sustainable global solutions to climate change.
