Installing new solar/wind power generation is now cheaper than keeping existing coal plants in operation in the US

Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act in the US, it is now more cost-effective to build and install new wind or solar infrastructure than to keep operating the existing coal plants, let alone build new ones. Let us hope that it will lead to renewables taking a bigger and bigger place in the US electricity grid.
