Kenya's Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi calls for protection, rehabilitation of water towers

Kenya's Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi lead the launch of Ministry of Environment Strategic Plan for the year 2023-2027. In his speech CS 's boss urged the ministry to protect and rehabilitate all water towers and focus in guarding all gazetted forest in the nation. Mudavadi categorically highlighted the importance of protecting Mau Water Tower and fencing of all forests left vulnerable to human activities. “We have to align our policies to ensure that we consistently conserve, protect and sustainably manage our environment,” Mudavadi said. “We are at a meagre nine per cent forest cover, purely out of neglect and destruction. It is commendable what we have done to protect the Mt Kenya Water Towers,” he added. He further cautioned all in attendance of the cost of ignoring this measures, where he stated how Kenya has been hit by the worst drought in 40 years. Read more:
