Mineral veins associated with the hot granite rocks of Cornwall, SW England, have been a major European source of industral raw materials since the Bronze Age (notably tin and china clay). Now a new cluster of innovative companies is collaborating to extract lithium for batteries from geothermal waters and china clay waste, as well as reopening old mine tunnels in search of newly valuable metals left behind by the Industrial Revolution.
