Blueland helps Twitter users recycle their beauty products
Plastic packaging is responsible for around half of plastic prduction, and the exponentially growing care and beauty industry produces 120 billion units of packaging per year. Often, bottles and packs do not contain recycling instructions, and they end up in landfills, oceans, and our bloodstreams.
The eco friendly cleaning company Blueland is launching a new initiative on its Twitter account that lets anyone tweet at the company for advice on how to recycle a beauty product—from any brand—and it will respond with information on proper disposal.
The process is straightforward: Just tweet @Blueland with the name of the product (ideally with a photo) and where you live, and a representative will respond with information about how to dispose of it responsibly.
Great initiative, I think we should advocate for more transparency in this industry! I wonder if it also works outside the USA?

This is great but my most since advice is that we should advocate more of a transition to producing biodegradable packaging containers rather than seeking for recycling options and instructions.
Recycling of plastics is still a myth and isn't a super cool and lasting solution whatsoever but biodegradables are
